More About The Subconscious.

In my last article I touched just briefly on a few basics about the nature of the subconscious.  So, I thought we might delve a little more into a few ideas related to our subject of interest, which is; Just how does the subconscious influence our experience of life?  But, you might ask, Why should you care?  Because my friend, by understanding the principles of how the subconscious functions, and how it is influencing our experience of life, it gives us a few of the key principles of how we can effectively create changes in our life.

First let me just mention, if you are coming here as a new visitor to my page, I would encourage you to scroll down to the bottom of the page and take a few minutes to look at a few of the earlier posts, where I have attempted to present some of the basic principles I have found that are relevant to how we can create change in our life of those things which we do not wish to have. Or, perhaps watch the introductory discussion video about what are subconscious patterns. At, the very least read the previous article about the subconscious, as I will probably be making references to some of the ideas that were presented there.

In my last article, called What’s the big deal about the Subconscious? I described an analogy that drew comparisons between the operating system on a computer and the subconscious. I would like to delve into that a bit more to talk about some of the characteristics of the subconscious that is involved with our focus of unwanted patterns and what needs to happen to get rid of them.

I had described the process of forming what I call the fundamental belief systems during the initial stages of early childhood. And, I compared that process to the configuration period on a computer. Meaning that what is established during that configuration period becomes the instructions for how the system produces results.  I also referred to the computer having special system files that are critical to the operating system of the computer, that are not made available to the user.

So I would like to pose the analogy, that the subconscious, being similar to the computer operating system also has something similar to the critical systems files, which are kept in a special protected area and not given access to the user.  Whereas, we might think of the computer system having a special protected area where the critical system files are kept, which might even have a password protection, so that those files cannot be accessed, changed, or deleted, without having the password. We might also extend the analogy to the subconscious.

We can also think of the subconscious as having a special protected area, where the critical system files are kept, which also has a protection that we might relate to like the password protection, which prevents those system files from being tampered with, altered, or removed, unless the specific conditions, which we might compare to the password, is properly applied.

Those special critical system files, which we have also called the configuration files, that are relevant to the subconscious, are what I called the fundamental belief systems, which were formed during the first six years or so, in that initial configuration process I described in the previous article. So, those interpretations and perceptions that were accepted, become the beliefs, which the subconscious follows as the instructions to produce the conditions and experiences of life.

And now we have added another layer to the understanding of how the system works. The subconscious operating system produces our experience of life, based on a collection of configuration files, or programs, which are the result of the experiences, interpretations, perceptions, and conclusions formed during the initial period of childhood, forming what I call the fundamental belief system.  Those programs are kept in a special area of the subconscious, which cannot be accessed, altered, or removed, from an outside source. The core belief system program files cannot be changed unless certain conditions are applied to gain access into the operating system files in the subconscious.

There are many resources out in the world that like to make claims that you can re-program your subconscious (or brain) by various methods, such as repeating an idea, or desired thoughts. In my opinion, this is not the case.   What I have found through over thirty years of working with these principles, is that the original core fundamental belief systems will not be changed by any means coming from the outside, or conscious level.

Certain types of specific conditions must happen in order to change a core fundamental belief system.  And, I imagine, there are those who are thinking right about now, “But, there are many who teach that you can reprogram your subconscious with these methods, and people are getting results.”  I cannot dispute that many people get results. I can only say, in my opinion, whatever may be the results, it did not happen from changing core fundamental subconscious beliefs.  Something else is occurring, but that is somewhat of a different discussion, maybe for another time.

What we do want to talk about, is how we can, in fact, change those original, fundamental belief system programs. But, before we get to that, there is another aspect of how the subconscious works that I need to describe, that applies to why this process of changing unwanted programs is designed the way it is.

As I described earlier, that system of interpretations and perceptions, that were accepted and established as what I call the core fundamental belief system, become the guidelines, or instructions, for how the subconscious produces the results that we experience. So I want to discuss a little about how the subconscious processes what we would think of as intentions. When we choose something, at a conscious level, whether it’s thoughts, intentions of something we want to do, or accomplish, or otherwise experience, it’s sort-of like typing a command into your computer.

When you type an instruction into your computer, it then needs to figure out what needs to happen to perform whatever actions or functions are needed to produce the appropriate results. And the operating system sorts that out, through a system of program files, some of those would be those critical system files we discussed earlier.  And, then proper measures take place to produce the appropriate results.

When you give an instruction to your subconscious about something you want, like an intention of some sort, something similar occurs. The intent is sent to the subconscious operating system, and it is checked, or filtered, through the fundamental belief systems, and checked for compatibility.  If the request/intention is compatible with the core fundamental belief systems, the subconscious operating system will generate whatever processes are required to produce the intended results. In which case, suitable results that correspond to the intention will happen. Like magic, it just manifests.

But, on the other hand, if there is a desire, intention, request, or whatever it is, at a conscious level, that is sent to the subconscious, for approval we’ll call it, when it is checked against the core fundamental belief systems for compatibility, if the request/intention is not compatible with the core fundamental belief systems, it’s a very different scenario.  If the request or intention from the conscious level is not compatible with the core fundamental belief system, it will be rejected. Or, it may be modified to some other form that is compatible. In other words, the subconscious operating system will produce results that conform to whatever the core belief systems are.

So, what this means is that things work differently for every person. Some things, as intentions, may work for some people, but the same things may not work for other people. This is why many of the things that are taught out in the world, for how to get results, or how to change things in your life, or how to manifest what you want in life, may work fine for some people, but may not work at all for others.

And, is the same reason why many methods that are taught, such as power of positive thinking, affirmations, mantras, trying to “reprogram” the subconscious by repeating something,  law of attraction, and all the other forms of “manifest what you think,” work fine for some people, but not at all for others. It is about what a person’s original beliefs systems were.

With all that being said, the real point of the discussion remains, “How do we re-program the subconscious?”  The purpose of all that discussion was to present a few fundamental principles of how the subconscious functions, so that we have a bit of an idea of what works and what doesn’t work.

So, to consider what would be an effective means of making changes to the subconscious, we need to take into consideration those fundamental characteristics.  First, the “programs” that are responsible for what we wish to change are kept in a special area of the subconscious operating system. Next, there is a separation between the conscious part of the mind, and the subconscious part of the mind.

And, there is a protective mechanism that shields those special system file programs, we are calling fundamental belief systems, from outside tampering, which we might think of as being like a firewall that protects a computer system.  This means that this “firewall” between the conscious and subconscious, prevents tampering, interference, or otherwise changing the core fundamental belief systems from a conscious level. Which means that those core subconscious programs will not be modified or changed from efforts of a conscious level.

So, what is the solution? I have found that an altered state of consciousness is needed to bypass the protective “firewall” between the conscious and subconscious, in order to effectively gain access to the programs in the core fundamental belief systems, which then makes it possible to delete those original belief system programs.  I have found that a deep trance state, similar to hypnosis, is the key, to track down and identify the original consciousness structures, that we have been calling programs, that is responsible for a particular pattern of conditions, which are being produced from the subconscious.

The trance state of consciousness, is also the key factor, to make it possible to effectively remove, or delete, the original consciousness structure that is responsible for a particular unwanted pattern.  This compares to literally deleting a flawed program in the operating system.  When the flawed or unwanted program is deleted, then new parameters for new belief systems can be chosen and installed in its place.

These fundamental principles of how the subconscious operates are some of the primary reasons why the approach I have developed is based on a deep trance state guided meditation. It is designed to produce the kind of altered state of consciousness which allows for direct access to the fundamental systems of the subconscious, to identify the belief programs that are responsible for the unwanted conditions, and to be able to make choices to effectively remove the relevant structures/programs.  This is one of the key principles that allows change to occur at a very fundamental level.  This is just one of the unique aspects of the approach I am offering that makes it very effective.

What’s the Big Deal About the Subconscious?

I’ve been talking about subconscious patterns, and subconscious programs, but, what are we really talking about, and why is it a big deal?  Well, it’s a big deal because it is probably the biggest factor that determines our experience of life.

I suspect most people have heard the words subconscious, but not many really have an understanding of what that is, or what it means about how it influences life. So, to begin with let’s try to mention a few basics.  The subconscious is the part of our consciousness that manages everything.  On a physical level, it manages all those necessary processes that keep the body working, like respiration, blood flow, coordinating movement, mobility, and all the other automatic functions that make living in a body possible.  But there is much more involved.

The subconscious also manages our life on a more subtle level. It manages memory. It manages all the functions and skills involved in performing our day to day activities. It manages all the subroutines that make most of the mundane activities we perform as part of everyday life, an automatic process, such as walking, talking, brushing our teeth, washing the dishes, driving the car, cleaning the house, doing the laundry, and all the other everyday tasks that we take for granted, that we are able to do automatically.  Consider what it would be like if we had to stop and concentrate on how to perform all those “routine” things we do every day. The subconscious manages all of the functions that need to happen to just perform those activities automatically.

And, on a more subtle level, the subconscious manages most of what we think of as our conscious mind.  The subconscious inhabits the majority of our consciousness. If we were to think of how an iceberg has a small portion that is above the surface of the water, and the vast majority of its mass is below the surface of the water, as a comparison, our conscious awareness part of the mind, would be the part of the iceberg above the water, and the subconscious would be the part of the iceberg that is below the water.

The subconscious could be thought of as being similar to the operating system on a computer. It is what is behind the scenes, making it possible for everything to happen. The computer’s operating system manages the disk drive, the memory storage, the motherboard, the various components, the equipment, and the processes that are needed for the software to function and produce all the different types of results that the computer produces. The operating system is what makes it all work.

The operating system on the computer is composed of a complex system of programs that control all of the various types of functions that need to happen for the computer to function and produce the intended results. There is a set of system programs that control how the system itself functions, which are called critical system files, or programs. These critical system files function behind the scenes, and are not given access to the user, often without the user being aware of them.  There are many other things that the operating system on the computer manages, that are relevant to our example, but this may get the discussion started.

With that simplified example of the operating system on a computer, let’s consider a clumsy analogy of the subconscious being similar in many ways to the operating system on the computer.  The subconscious manages the data storage and memory. It manages all of the automatic processes necessary for the hardware to function. And it manages all of the processes that are needed for the software to function and produce results.

As with the operating system for the computer, which has a series of critical system files, also referred to as configuration files, which manages how the computer system functions, The subconscious also has a set of critical system files, which also function like configuration files, that I call the fundamental belief system, and manages the results that the system produces, which we know as our experience of human life.

So, to continue the analogy, when a computer is brand new, and is first started, there is some process needed to set up the computer. It is usually about choosing preferences of how the computer should operate.  This is often done by a technician, so many home users may not be familiar with this part. Settings need to be chosen, and various capabilities need to be designated. We might call this process a configuration period. As another similar analogy, for many video games, when first started, the user is prompted to go through a process to choose the capabilities and characteristics of the avatar for the user’s character. This process is also called a configuration process.

Now let’s compare with the other side of our analogy.  When a human is born, there is a process for the first several years, of making interpretations, forming perceptions, making decisions, and choosing beliefs.  These conclusions and choices are being monitored and recorded by the subconscious operating system, and installed as the configuration files for the operating system.  These configuration files become the basis which the subconscious operating system will follow to produce the results of the system, being what we would say is the person’s experience of life.

Now, over the years, as I have tried to find ways to describe these ideas to people, it has seemed like some people did not respond well to the idea of being described like a computer system.  So if I offend you by describing the human experience as being like a computer system, my apologies. But, it’s true. Over many years of studying many types of resources, I have found that certain principles hold true, at least within the context of this holographic environment we call the earth plane.  What we think of as our “selves,” usually limited to the physical form, is only a vessel, that is intended to provide a means for consciousness to have the experience, somewhat like a vehicle, and our consciousness is the driver.

Our vessel is meant to provide a way for our consciousness to interact with this environment. It just so happens our vessel comes with a highly complex operating system.  And, the operating system determines how the vessel will interact with the universe. And, the configuration of the operating system determines how the system will perform, and the result it produces.  Therein is the nature of the conditions that are experienced as life.

So, what does this have to do with our experience of life? Everything, Because, the conclusions that a person forms during the configuration period of the first six years or so, becomes those configuration files, which the subconscious operating system follows, or executes, to produce the experience that occurs. It becomes how life is experienced.  The conclusions become the instructions that the subconscious conveys to the universe, and the universe provides conditions which correspond to whatever the contents of the configuration files are.  And, we experience life according to whatever is contained in the initial configuration files.

So, there might still be an attitude of “So what? What’s the big deal?”  Well, if a person was born into a healthy supportive environment, and made choices that formed healthy, supportive belief systems, then their experience of life will probably be just fine, and, for them, it’s not such a big deal.  But, on the other hand, if for whatever reasons, a person chose belief systems during the initial configuration period, that were not so healthy and supportive, it makes a big deal in the kind of experience of life the person has.

If a person chose initial belief systems that are negative, limiting, or self-defeating, they will have a completely different kind of life experience.  If a person chose belief systems of scarcity, limitation, not good enough, not loved, not accepted, abandoned, not worthy, don’t deserve, or, I’m bad, or no good, or an infinite variety of versions of I’m not ok, those beliefs that were accepted become the configuration files that give the subconscious the instructions of what kind of reality to manifest as the person’s experience of life.

This is the big deal. People live with the conditions that unfortunate belief systems produce as the manifested reality, and never realize it.  This is the message that my work is about. That one does not have to live with the conditions that negative and limiting belief systems cause.  That the conditions caused by unbeneficial belief systems can be eliminated, if we apply the principles involved in how they function, to remove, erase, or delete the initial false beliefs that were formed during the configuration period. When the initial flawed, or unbeneficial belief systems are eliminated, profound changes can occur, at a fundamental level. And Life occurs differently. This is what the process I have developed is offering, a way to change the fundamental quality of life that the consciousness is manifesting as the experience of life.

What is the Real Cause of Your Problems?

If you have something in your life that you don’t like, where does it really come from? What is it’s real cause?  And, of course the real question is, what can be done about it, to get rid of it?

Many years ago when I first started trying to share the solutions I had found with other people, I talked about “issues,” and how this method could make issues disappear. Mainly because in those days, that’s what it was called; “issues.”  But, I found that it didn’t seem like people responded to well to the idea of having issues.  Eventually it occurred to me that maybe people didn’t like admitting to the idea of having problems.  I mean, let’s face it, who wants to admit they have problems?  Other than maybe a few, like me, that have been beat to a pulp, and fed through the meat grinder of life, and ready to say, “yeah, I got problems, and I’m ready to do something about it.”

But what about the rest of the people in the world? Those that didn’t find themselves confronted by conditions that clearly indicate there was a serious problem going on? Or, even, how does one recognize that there are conditions in life that are not beneficial, and make the decision to do something to make changes happen?  Because, frankly, our society is arranged in such a way that it produces unhealthy conditions for life, and people are not taught to know what is going on, much less what to do about it.

For, example, society creates conditions that people may have a perpetual feeling of being inadequate, and are taught to seek comfort or approval through acquiring material things. This is considered normal. But I see a society of people who are struggling to overcome a deep feeling that something is “not ok” about them, and are trying to make themselves feel better by some form of materialistic means.  This is the essence of addiction. Whether it is consuming, or a behavior, or acquiring things, or self-image, or work, or status, or seeking approval, or acceptance, or any of the other conditions that are considered “normal” in society, if it’s about striving to reach “being ok”, then it is really about something much deeper, that is based on a belief of some kind of “not ok.”  And, it comes from a false belief of some kind that was formed during early childhood. And is causing false conditions in one’s life.

So we are conditioned to accept the conditions of life, and not notice that there is a deeper level that is driving our experience of life, that is about “something is not ok.” So, we go through life striving to achieve, striving to perform, to win, to be accepted, approved, to be loved. All the while believing it’s not so, believing there’s something wrong that has to be overcome, to hide, to be ashamed of, that somehow makes us unworthy, or unloved. But, it is a false idea that was accepted as what is true. It is all that has been known, and has been manifested as the experience of reality.

So, I am trying to find a way to convey the real essence of what this approach, and this work, is really about.  It’s not just about having some “issues” that we might be embarrassed to admit. But, it’s about what are you manifesting in your life to experience?

It’s considered ok to say something like, oh, I’ve got anxiety, or depression, basically because everybody does. It is the result of the society we are in.  But what matters is, where is that anxiety or depression coming from? What is really causing it, and what are you going to do about it?  And, beyond that is, what else is going on, that is driving your life?  What else is coming from deep inside that is influencing your life every day, that you don’t notice, that you don’t pay attention to? That you just take for granted?

I would invite you to take a closer look at your life, and look at what is really driving the conditions that show up in your life. What are the underlying motivations in your life that you don’t pay attention to?  For example, is your life about looking good to others?  Do you have a need to have the right house, or right clothes, or right car?  Are you driven at work by a need for approval? Is your career driven by the need to succeed, to prove something? To prove you’re good enough? Or smart enough?

Do you spend time worrying about what people are thinking about you? Do you find yourself people pleasing? Or agreeing to things because you have a need to be liked? Do you let people take advantage of you? Are you a “goody two shoes?” always doing what’s “right?” Are you attached to “the right way”? or easily upset by people that don’t do things “the right way?”

Do you need to “prove yourself?”  Better, stronger, smarter, prettier? Or, do you find yourself feeling “less than”? Not good enough, not smart enough, not worthy?  Do you find that a lot of your plans don’t really work out? Do you fear success? Do you fear responsibility? Have you noticed that sometimes choices that you didn’t realize you made, ended up being the reasons things didn’t work out? Have you noticed that some choices you make seem to cause your own problems?

Do you struggle with relationships? Do you get involved with the wrong people? Do you get in relationships that turn out to be just like your parents? Or do you attract people that treat you badly? Are you suspicious of people? Do you have trouble trusting people?

Do you have volatile emotions? Tend to “blow up” at people? Do you sometimes overreact? Do you attract drama in your life? Do you attract people in your life that always have drama going on?

Has it seemed like no matter what you do, you just can’t seem to make things work? Do you feel like life is hard? Do you feel like the universe is against you? Do you feel like bad stuff happens “to you?”  Do you sometimes have a feeling of futility, like, “what’s the use?”  Have you felt like no matter what you do it just doesn’t seem to work?

Or, do you buy things to make yourself feel better? Or, maybe eat to make yourself feel better?  Do you base how you feel about yourself, on how you think other people see you? Do you have negative thoughts? Or do you have thoughts that criticize or judge yourself? Do you have fear of letting other people see, or know, who you really are?  Do you act the way you think other people will like you? Are you driven by a fear of not being liked by people? Do you have a fear that people won’t like you if they find out who you really are?

Well, this could go on for days. There is really an infinite variety of ways that the patterns of unwanted conditions can appear, and influence lives.  So, at this point the question is, do you relate to any of this?  Or, perhaps there is something else that you recognize as something you don’t like having in your life. Then it’s a matter of what are you going to do about it? Continue living with it? Or do something to get rid of it?

To go back to what we began this discussion with, of what causes these problems in life? Or, whatever other problems you might have going on. The answer is; unwanted conditions, patterns, or issues, or whatever else we might call it, come from subconscious patterns that form during the first few years of childhood. Those patterns manifest as the conditions that are experienced throughout life. The approach I am offering with this work, provides an effective way to make whatever those problems are, disappear.  So, the question remains, if you have something in your life that isn’t working for you, what will it take to motivate you to say, “yes, I want to do something to get this out of my life”?  --  Gary

How to Control Emotions.

A post came through my fb feed recently with the question “How do you control emotions?”  There was a variety of responses. Some said meditation.  Some said yoga. There were various versions of mind control. Some had suggestions to distract the attention to something else like exercise or dance. Some said to ignore them because they aren’t real. Some said to embrace the emotions and love them. I thought this might be a good time to discuss my view of how emotions factor into our experience of life, and how it relates to unwanted conditions.

First of all, I would like to say that trying to control emotions is pointless. Emotions happen, they are usually in response to something, when they happen, it’s already done. It’s a bit like the old saying, the horse is already out of the gate at that point. And, in many cases it’s a bit like trying to control the wind in a middle of a thunderstorm. In most cases the best we can hope for is to try and re-direct the response to whatever the emotions are about. Which is what most of the suggested methods that are offered out in the world, are attempting to do, is to try and modify how the reaction or response occurs.

So, what is my approach? You might ask.  My view is that if we can clean up the cause of emotional reactions, by removing what causes the reactions, then the unwanted reaction never happens, and we don’t need to control the emotions.

Let’s start with a few basic ideas about how emotions relate to our experiences. First, the nature of emotions is that they want to be acknowledged and expressed in order to process and dissipate naturally. If we do that well, emotions will pass through as we experience things, and go on their way, dissipating and disappearing, as they are intended.

But first let’s back up a step and put emotions into context of the bigger picture of how it fits into our human experience.  Our human vessel is composed of several types of systems.  In addition to the physical body, we have several systems that are about subtle energies.  These subtle energies compose what I call the energy system, or energy field, which includes what is commonly referred to as the aura, which, is like a bubble of energies that surround the physical form.

The subtle energy system includes the chakras, which many have become familiar with lately, but also include a series of layers in the surrounding energy field, referred to in some metaphysical materials as the subtle bodies. There are several subtle bodies, but the three primary subtle energy bodies, that I have found compose the majority of influence on our experience of life, are the emotional body, the mental body, and the causal body.  I consider this loosely corresponds to the eastern holistic model commonly expressed as “body, mind, spirit.”  However, in my opinion, I think for the reference to be complete it would be body, emotion, mind, and spirit,  but that’s another discussion.

The point of the discussion of the energy system is that each of these aspects of the energy system has it’s own type of energies, and plays a major part of our search for solutions of how to create change in our experience of life. And, all three of these energies work together to produce the overall effect that we experience.  So, in order to have an effective process of causing change in life, each of these three types of energies need to be addressed according to their unique character.  This is one of the reasons I refer to the process I developed as Wholistic Transformation.  But, enough of that rabbit trail, back to the subject of emotions.

Emotions were meant to be one of our senses to interpret our experiences. When emotions are processed and expressed in a healthy manner, emotions, flow through our experience and dissipate naturally. However, our society doesn’t promote conditions that are conducive for healthy emotions.  So, there is a common tendency for emotions to not be processed and released properly, which leaves those emotions stuck in the energy field. Over time there can be many old emotions that are churning around in the energy field, a bit like a swarm of bees.

Emotions are meant to be part of our interpretation and experience of the present conditions. But, if a person has accumulated many emotions in the past that have not been resolved and cleared, what seems to them to be emotions and reactions to the current circumstances, are actually reactions of those old emotions of the past, that are still present in the energy field. So, rather than reacting to the current experience, they are actually experiencing emotions that are from something in the past.  And, to skip to the chase for a moment, most of those reactions that show up, originate in experiences during early childhood.  And, this is the essence of the approach I have developed, it’s all about what was experienced during the initial period of childhood. But, I digress a bit, back to emotions.

So let’s get to the point of what to do about emotions. Clearing and releasing emotions is not difficult if we honor what they need.  Emotions want to be acknowledged and expressed. If we do that then emotions will release and dissipate, well, mostly, there’s a bit more involved, but we’ll come back to that.

Basically, if we identify and acknowledge the emotion, and express that in an appropriate manner, it will go away.  So, a very simple, but very effective exercise is to write down the feelings. Identify what the feeling is and write it down. This gives it the acknowledgement it needs, and a suitable form of expression.  When done thoroughly, this exercise can make a significant difference in how one feels.

But, there is more to consider. There is more involved than just emotions. As I discussed earlier, there are three main aspects of our human condition; emotional, mental and spiritual.  All three of these energies are connected together, or “stuck together” as I call it, when there are patterns that are affecting the experience of the present. So any effort to produce significant change in life, that only deals with emotions, and does not also address the mental and spiritual aspects, will be incomplete, and will not fully address the underlying cause of whatever the undesirable conditions are.

Well, this has become much too long, again.  Going back to the original discussion of how to manage emotions, if the emotions are addressed to acknowledge and release them, they will stop happening. However, we need to also understand that the emotions are also connected to the mental aspect, and the spiritual aspect; the thought patterns and beliefs. And, it all is most likely the result of something that occurred during childhood that has been stuck in the subconscious, and shows up as recurring reactions to various circumstances in the present.  If the source of those reactions is addressed, to release the emotions, as well as the thought patterns, and beliefs, then it all stops happening, no more reactions, no more emotions about it.  No more need to control the emotions.  To me, this is what is effective.

More about What are these Subconscious Pattern things?

I thought I might go a little deeper into what I have been calling unwanted subconscious patterns, or subconscious programs.  Or, what I also refer to as consciousness structures.  I have been referring to these patterns in several posts, in various ways, hoping to find some way to describe what is going on in a way that someone may read this and say, oh, that’s what that is, and relate to something that shows up in life from time to time, and perhaps feel inspired to take the action to do something about erasing it.   If you are just coming to this page for the first time, or have not yet read the first few posts where I have tried to lay some groundwork for what we are talking about here, please take a little time and look through those earlier posts.

As I have mentioned in several posts, one of the main challenges I have faced over the years, of trying to figure out how to share this work with people, has been, how do I explain this in a way people will “get it” and be inspired to get involved in using the approach.  I don’t seem to be so good at marketing, certainly not at sales. What I am good at, is understanding and clearing unwanted “stuff.”  But not so much at motivating people to do so. One of the ideas behind doing this facebook page was to just talk about how this stuff works, as best I can, without getting bogged down in figuring out how to “teach” what needs to be understood, in order to  understand what it can provide,  Or, trying to figure out marketing materials.  So, I’ll just keep trying to discuss what’s going on under the surface of the consciousness, and maybe someone will take an interest.

With that said, let’s dig into these unwanted patterns a little bit.  As I have said before, what I call unwanted patterns, have been called many different things over the years, and been given many labels, and described many ways.  So, I am trying to say that whatever they have been called, in all the various forms, regardless of what they may look like, or whatever form they may take, it is fundamentally one phenomenon that functions in a certain way, that can be addressed and eliminated with this approach that I talk about.  But, another point I am trying to make in this discussion is that these patterns are often not noticed as being “patterns,” they are often something that just seems like the way life is. Since they are formed at an early age, and have been a fundamental part of life, it is all that has ever been known, and is accepted as a normal part of life.  Somewhat like the old saying of looking at life through colored glasses, it is all we have ever known, and it is part of our interpretation, or paradigm of life.

So, let’s just start with listing some of the more common conditions that we can say are the result of underlying subconscious programs. (in no particular order) Let’s see ..  anxiety, depression, anger/rage, phobias/fears, triggers/buttons getting pushed, reactions/over-reactive, irrational behaviors, obsessive and compulsive behaviors, grandiosity, poor self-esteem, self-loathing, insecurities, control issues, people pleasing, addictions (any form; consumption or behavior) DRAMA, procrastination, avoidance/resistance, co-dependency, dysfunctional behavior, cognitive dissonance,  emotional or mental trauma; childhood or otherwise ,  abandonment issues, feeling unaccepted, feeling unloved, attracting unhealthy relationships, self-sabotage, self-defeating behavior, fear of failure, fear of success, seeking happiness through materialism,  all forms of “ism’s,” fear of commitment, need of commitment, need of acceptance, need to impress, being emotionally unavailable, being emotionally disconnected, wounded inner child, need to control, internal self criticism or judgement, lack of self-confidence, generally anything labeled ego, anything labeled shadow self, anything involving recurring patterns or circumstances,  victim mentality, feeling not worthy, feeling of don’t deserve, feeling of can’t have, feeling of universe is against me, feeling of life is hard, feeling of life’s not fair, unhealthy or dysfunctional family dynamics, recurring conditions of lack or scarcity, trust issues or distrust, anything called a coping mechanism, anything called a survival mechanism, anything that is self-destructive, being pompous, pious, or arrogant, attachments to the way things are “supposed” to be, attachments to “good, bad, right, wrong,”  reactive to other people’s actions or behavior, being judgmental of others,  need for things to be done certain way, or arranged a certain way,  ..  well, this is just a basic list of some of the more common forms of patterns that have names we recognize.  The thing is, each person is unique, and each subconscious program is unique to a person, and they can have infinite varieties of shapes and forms.

Some patterns will be more about the emotions. And will be like an old tape recording of the emotions that were experienced when the tape was recorded, and will playback at various times when the tape gets triggered, and those same emotions will be experienced each time the tape plays, just like the original experience, over and over.

Some patterns will be more about thought patterns and perceptions, and may have behavior patterns that are associated with them. They might be about reactions to circumstances or people, like, “every time I’m around such and such person, I get mad.” Or, every time we go to the family gathering, something happens, and there is a reaction.  Or, maybe, whenever we are around certain kinds of people, there is a reaction, or get in an argument, or think they don’t treat us right, or think they don’t like us, or respect us, or whatever that may be.  Or, maybe we insist on things being done a certain way, or maybe, we have a particular action or behavior that we tend to repeat over and over.  There was a tv show years ago called “Monk” that was an example of obsessive behavior patterns, albeit a bit extreme.

As a simplistic example of these type of reactive, or behavior patterns might be; “every time I see a red plaid shirt, I get mad.”  Then of course, everywhere I look I see red plaid shirts.  Somewhat like the proverbial waving a red flag at the bull.   Now, here’s the interesting part, because I have a subconscious program where I react to red plaid shirts, the universe provides me with opportunities to see red plaid shirts, to provide the circumstances for that program to be fulfilled.  And, the universe will continue to provide opportunities for that program to play, from time to time, (hence the term “recurring”)   as long as that program remains active in the subconscious.  Now, let that sink in.   But, on the other side of that coin, is the common tendency is to get mad at the people wearing red plaid shirts for “pushing our triggers.”  Go figure.

Now let’s look at another simplified example. Let’s suppose there is a young child, maybe three years or so, and is in the kitchen. This child has seen mom doing things at the stove, and the child is curious, and for this example, let’s say the burner is on, and the child reaches up to the stove, and puts their hand on the burner.  Of course, the child’s hand gets burned. But, we don’t want to deal with any trauma or child abuse issues, with this particular example, so, we’ll just say the hand gets burned, but not any serious injury occurs.  So, for the sake of the example, let’s say the child then says, “ I’m never gonna do that again, stoves are bad.”  And life goes on.

However, as the child grows up and becomes an adult. This person becomes someone who doesn’t cook. In fact they never use the stove. And, it doesn’t occur to this person like there is anything unusual about not using the stove, they just prefer to get food some other way  ..  lots of carryout.

This person may go through life and never notice anything unusual about not using the stove. Or, at some point they may be confronted with circumstances where using the stove may be necessary. Then perhaps they may encounter avoidance or resistance, and find that they don’t like the stove, or even find they can’t use the stove. They may actually reach a point of realizing they have a phobia about the stove. What to do then?   Well, the solution is to address the subconscious program, to erase the program that is causing the problematic pattern, and that resistance about the stove will disappear.

If we take a closer look at what is happening in this example, we may be able to relate this to many other scenarios in life.  In the sample scenario, the child had an experience, something happened and the child had a reaction of some kind. Then, the child made a decision in response to the event, he decided, “I’m never gonna do that again. Stove’s are bad.”  Which would seem like a reasonable reaction.

However, that decision is recorded by the subconscious, and becomes instructions that the subconscious must follow. So, the subconscious creates conditions to influence the person to avoid having contact with the stove.  This forms what we might think of as a sub-routine, or program, that the subconscious generates to fulfill the instructions it was given of "I'll never do that again.”   These sub-routines are what are sometimes called protective mechanisms, or coping mechanisms, or in some cases survival mechanisms. These coping or survival mechanisms are pretty common, and can have significant consequences in some cases.

Well, this is getting a bit long. I warned you this was going to be a bit more involved. But, as I have said before, this is a complicated thing we’re talking about.  And, there is still an important aspect of these programs that we haven’t gotten to yet, which really needs a whole chapter in itself. So, we will just make a quick reference and devote another discussion in more detail, to the importance of beliefs.

We have spoken of emotions, and we have spoken of the mind and thought patterns.  But in my opinion, an even more significant influence on the way we experience life is the belief systems that are formed during the initial configuration process in early childhood. And, the influence of the experiences that a person has during this formation period has on the beliefs that are formed, plays a major role in how life occurs.

As another simplified example scenario, let’s consider a young child, also, perhaps around three years or so.  Let’s say the child is sitting at their little kiddie table having some cookies and milk. And, let’s suppose, somehow, something happens, and the milk ends up on the floor.  This just became what is for the child, a traumatic experience, because the child is suddenly confronted with the problem; “the milk is on the floor.”  This will likely trigger an emotional response. And, then thought patterns may begin, of, “I’m in trouble now.”  “What’s gonna happen?”  “What am I gonna do?” etc.

Now we build on the scenario, and let’s suppose an adult walks in, and says something. It could be a wide range of things said. It could be something simple like “Look what happened.”  Now, the child will be trying to interpret the situation, and will likely make something up of what they think it means, but, that is a more involved discussion.

But for now, let’s say the adult had some things to say that were, shall we say, not supportive, which could range from something pretty basic like “look what you did, you’re stupid.”  Or, ranging up to a full scale, “shit hit the fan”, kind of scenario by the adult.  Well, the child is in a position of seeing the adult as; They are supposed to know. In which case the child may make a choice, or decision, to accept what the adult said, as “What is true.”  The child may accept something like, “maybe they’re right. Maybe I am Stupid.”

When the child accepts “I’m stupid” as What is True, it becomes what I call part of the fundamental belief system, and is recorded by the subconscious, as one of the fundamental conditions of reality.  That belief becomes part of the instructions which the subconscious must follow to create and manifest the conditions of that person’s experience of life.  So, as the person grows up and has experiences, their life will be the demonstration of “I’m stupid.”  And from there, things get complicated.

This has been just a sketchy outline of how these core fundamental programs are formed, and will likely need a more detailed discussion later. This has already become way too long. My apologies. The purpose of this discussion was to attempt to present a few basic ideas of how subconscious programs can be formed, and hopefully offer a few ideas that some folks might be able to relate to in some way, to get a sense of how programs like this, or various other types, may be affecting their life. Or, perhaps it might trigger something that you can relate to, and cause you to want to do something about clearing patterns that might be affecting your life.

How to break the multi-generational curse.

Recently a post came through my fb feed that someone raised the question of how can we break the cycle of the multi-generational curse?  They didn’t specify exactly what they meant by the “curse,”  but it occurs to me this could be considered in many ways.

There were various responses, some referred to ancestors, some referred to bloodlines, some referred to genes and DNA. Some referred to canceling soul contracts, and cutting cords. Some referred to various forms of meditation, such as mindfulness and other forms of attempting to ignore the problems.  Over the years of working with the principles involved with this approach, and working with the effects of the subconscious programs that are formed during childhood, I have developed theories about the significance of the multi-generational effect.

So, to set the stage, let’s revisit the fundamental premise of what influences our experience of life; the first half dozen years of childhood. As a person is born, there is an ongoing process for the first six years or so, of observing what is occurring around them, and trying to figure out what is going on in the world.  There are many, many factors that contribute to the process, but we can generally say, the family environment, plays a major role. The child is observing and attempting to interpret everything they are seeing and hearing, and the various experiences they have. They are observing the behaviors of those around them, and attempting to understand what those around them are saying, and what it all means.

Now, this may seem obvious at first, but there are many factors that are involved, that we tend to take for granted, that influence the perceptions and beliefs that the child forms, and therefore forms the basis of the life that they manifest to experience.  So, all of the various forms of customs, traditions, behaviors and belief systems of the family culture form a hodgepodge of impressions that the child attempts to interpret and absorb into their fundamental perceptions of life, the world, and themselves.  Which, they then tend to re-create for themselves as they grow and manifest their experience of life.

But there is much more involved. Each cycle of a child going through this process of interpreting and incorporating the vast array of perceptions and beliefs encountered in the family environment, becomes another link in the chain of conditions handed down through many generations. As, each child takes those perceptions they formed in the beginning, and grows up, adding their own version of the experiences they have, and then teach those same perceptions and belief systems to their children, who adopt their own version of the family traditions and cultures, and grow up, and convey that to their children. And so on, and so on.  And, this cycle has been going on for many hundreds of years.

Well, there may be a tendency to say, ”yeah, ok, so what? What’s the big deal?”   If the environment of the family culture is conducive for the child to form healthy perceptions and belief systems, then healthy perceptions, belief systems, and resulting behaviors, will probably be the environment of the family culture that is past down from generation to generation, and things will most likely be ok.  But, on the other hand, if unhealthy or dysfunctional emotions, perceptions, beliefs and behaviors, are the characteristics of the family history, then that will also reflect as the characteristics of the family culture that is passed down from generation to generation.

There are many factors that can be mixed together to influence the character of the family environment, like socio-economic conditions experienced by previous generations, religious postures, as well as emotional and behavioral patterns that can contribute to an unhealthy, or even dysfunctional family culture.   Let’s take for example a generation of people that lived during the early half of the twentieth century. They experienced a world war, a global economic depression, and another world war.  These were major global level difficulties that had profound impact on much of the population. These events created conditions that had significant impact not only on the lives of those who lived through it, but influenced the perceptions and beliefs that those people conveyed to their children, and families.

Many people were forced into situations where they had to adopt attitudes toward life that were necessary in order to survive.  Let’s say, as a few examples, there may have been some folks that adopted attitudes such as, life is hard, money doesn’t grow on trees, money is scarce, or hard to come by, there’s not enough to go around, you have to work hard to get by in life. Or perhaps they formed any of countless other attitudes that would be the natural result of living through conditions of war and global economic depression.  Perhaps they formed attitudes about what life is like, or what you have to do to survive. Now, let’s consider those people had children, and taught those ideas about life to those children. And, those children manifest their experience of life based on those attitudes of how life occurs, and that has become the basis of the family culture that is passed down through the generations. Meaning, they manifest the same conditions of hardship that they were told that life is.

Now, let’s build another layer on it.  Let’s suppose another person, perhaps during the same time period and economic conditions, is an orphan at a very early age, and is put into an orphanage, among many other children. Let’s suppose those who were running the orphanage were, shall we say, not exactly nurturing, perhaps even mean. So, this child experienced what was essentially a hostile environment, during the critical development stage of forming their perceptions and belief systems about life, as well as their emotional health. This person then has children later in life, and re-creates the attitudes and emotional handicaps they formed during their own childhood, essentially re-creating the various forms of emotional handicaps and dysfunctional behaviors to pass down through the following generations.   And, furthermore, many of these conditions of family perceptions, belief systems and culture go back many generations, such as the civil war, revolutionary war, or even mid-evil times, the crusades, or the renaissance.

This has just been a sketchy outline that probably doesn’t convey the significance of what I am trying to describe. But, over many years of working with the causes of unwanted, or even dysfunctional issues, I find that these conditions involving the multi-generational family environment, plays a big part of the dynamics that are involved. In the work of addressing and cleaning up the effects of these dynamics, we can work with the inner child to understand how these factors have played a part in the experience they had, and have influenced the decisions and perceptions they formed, as a child, that are showing up in their present life. And, then, choices can be made to let these dynamics go. When they are released, healing can occur, and the effects of the past can stop affecting the present.  And, this is the goal, to have the past stop affecting the present, thereby, breaking the chain of the multi-generational curse.

A Little about a few of the principles of Creating Change Through Transformation

I realize that the subject material and principles I have been discussing may seem foreign, these principles have not been discussed much in the public view.  Let me try to boil this down to what’s important and why it’s important, and how this relates to how life is experienced.  I have described the scenario that during the first few years of childhood (and occasionally, in a similar manner, experiences of past lives)  each person has experiences that form patterns of emotions, perceptions and beliefs. These patterns are stored in the subconscious energy field. These patterns are the components that are the basic building blocks that shape the experience the person has.  This is why the principles of these patterns are important.

If the patterns a person establishes during the formation period are healthy, supportive, and work well with the world, things are pretty much ok, and that person’s life will work well. But, on the other hand, if those patterns are, shall we say, counter productive, or otherwise not beneficial, that person’s life will have experiences that correspond to those patterns.

So this is the root cause of an essentially infinite variety of unwelcome forms of experience often called “issues,”  that range from mind chatter, negative self talk, low self esteem, self sabotage, procrastination, emotional triggers and reactions, anxiety, depression, phobias, as well as the gamut of more serious “issues”.

These patterns have been referred to over the years by a variety of labels and descriptions, such as “wounded inner child,” “limiting or negative belief systems,” extensive lists of diagnoses and various labels in traditional psychology, to more recently it has become popular to call these unwanted patterns “shadow self,” and in some spiritual materials as “those things which are no longer needed, or no longer serves one’s highest good.” In my opinion these are many different ways that have attempted to describe and label, what I consider to be the same fundamental phenomenon.

So, the point we are getting to is, by utilizing conditions that address the components of these building blocks that form the patterns, they can be dis-assembled, and will go away.  It is not difficult to do if we use the understanding of the principles involved in how the human system of consciousness works, and how these patterns are formed.

First it is preferable to create a meditative state, which allows access to work directly with the subconscious.  Then, it works best to identify and acknowledge the emotions, thought forms, and the beliefs (which are conclusions that were drawn).  The identifying and acknowledging of the energies helps make it possible to release them. A choice can then be made to release the energies.  To complete the clearing of the energies, we can use an energy clearing method that seems appropriate. I like to use a light energy method, that uses the violet light, or also called the violet flame, Which is a special spiritual energy frequency that has the specific ability to remove old negative energies and transmute them.  After the old energies have been cleared, it is recommended to choose new ideas to establish as beliefs that are supportive of one’s highest good, to replace the old belies that have been erased.

This is a simplified description of the process, but when applied thoroughly, essentially any form of unwanted patterns can be addressed, resolved and cleared, which effectively, erases the pattern from the subconscious operating system. And, all of the associated unwanted symptoms, or effects, disappear.
