In my last article I touched just briefly on a few basics about the nature of the subconscious. So, I thought we might delve a little more into a few ideas related to our subject of interest, which is; Just how does the subconscious influence our experience of life? But, you might ask, Why should you care? Because my friend, by understanding the principles of how the subconscious functions, and how it is influencing our experience of life, it gives us a few of the key principles of how we can effectively create changes in our life.
First let me just mention, if you are coming here as a new
visitor to my page, I would encourage you to scroll down to the bottom of the
page and take a few minutes to look at a few of the earlier posts, where I have
attempted to present some of the basic principles I have found that are
relevant to how we can create change in our life of those things which we do
not wish to have. Or, perhaps watch the introductory discussion video about
what are subconscious patterns. At, the very least read the previous article
about the subconscious, as I will probably be making references to some of the
ideas that were presented there.
In my last article, called What’s the big deal about the
Subconscious? I described an analogy that drew comparisons between the
operating system on a computer and the subconscious. I would like to delve into
that a bit more to talk about some of the characteristics of the subconscious
that is involved with our focus of unwanted patterns and what needs to happen
to get rid of them.
I had described the process of forming what I call the
fundamental belief systems during the initial stages of early childhood. And, I
compared that process to the configuration period on a computer. Meaning that
what is established during that configuration period becomes the instructions
for how the system produces results. I
also referred to the computer having special system files that are critical to
the operating system of the computer, that are not made available to the user.
So I would like to pose the analogy, that the subconscious,
being similar to the computer operating system also has something similar to
the critical systems files, which are kept in a special protected area and not
given access to the user. Whereas, we
might think of the computer system having a special protected area where the
critical system files are kept, which might even have a password protection, so
that those files cannot be accessed, changed, or deleted, without having the
password. We might also extend the analogy to the subconscious.
We can also think of the subconscious as having a special
protected area, where the critical system files are kept, which also has a
protection that we might relate to like the password protection, which prevents
those system files from being tampered with, altered, or removed, unless the
specific conditions, which we might compare to the password, is properly
applied.
Those special critical system files, which we have also
called the configuration files, that are relevant to the subconscious, are what
I called the fundamental belief systems, which were formed during the first six
years or so, in that initial configuration process I described in the previous
article. So, those interpretations and perceptions that were accepted, become the
beliefs, which the subconscious follows as the instructions to produce the
conditions and experiences of life.
And now we have added another layer to the understanding of
how the system works. The subconscious operating system produces our experience
of life, based on a collection of configuration files, or programs, which are
the result of the experiences, interpretations, perceptions, and conclusions
formed during the initial period of childhood, forming what I call the
fundamental belief system. Those
programs are kept in a special area of the subconscious, which cannot be
accessed, altered, or removed, from an outside source. The core belief system
program files cannot be changed unless certain conditions are applied to gain
access into the operating system files in the subconscious.
There are many resources out in the world that like to make
claims that you can re-program your subconscious (or brain) by various methods,
such as repeating an idea, or desired thoughts. In my opinion, this is not the case.
What I have found through over thirty
years of working with these principles, is that the original core fundamental
belief systems will not be changed by any means coming from the outside, or
conscious level.
Certain types of specific conditions must happen in order to
change a core fundamental belief system.
And, I imagine, there are those who are thinking right about now, “But,
there are many who teach that you can reprogram your subconscious with these methods,
and people are getting results.” I
cannot dispute that many people get results. I can only say, in my opinion,
whatever may be the results, it did not happen from changing core fundamental
subconscious beliefs. Something else is
occurring, but that is somewhat of a different discussion, maybe for another
time.
What we do want to talk about, is how we can, in fact,
change those original, fundamental belief system programs. But, before we get
to that, there is another aspect of how the subconscious works that I need to describe,
that applies to why this process of changing unwanted programs is designed the
way it is.
As I described earlier, that system of interpretations and
perceptions, that were accepted and established as what I call the core
fundamental belief system, become the guidelines, or instructions, for how the
subconscious produces the results that we experience. So I want to discuss a
little about how the subconscious processes what we would think of as
intentions. When we choose something, at a conscious level, whether it’s thoughts,
intentions of something we want to do, or accomplish, or otherwise experience,
it’s sort-of like typing a command into your computer.
When you type an instruction into your computer, it then
needs to figure out what needs to happen to perform whatever actions or
functions are needed to produce the appropriate results. And the operating
system sorts that out, through a system of program files, some of those would
be those critical system files we discussed earlier. And, then proper measures take place to
produce the appropriate results.
When you give an instruction to your subconscious about
something you want, like an intention of some sort, something similar occurs.
The intent is sent to the subconscious operating system, and it is checked, or
filtered, through the fundamental belief systems, and checked for
compatibility. If the request/intention
is compatible with the core fundamental belief systems, the subconscious
operating system will generate whatever processes are required to produce the
intended results. In which case, suitable results that correspond to the
intention will happen. Like magic, it just manifests.
But, on the other hand, if there is a desire, intention,
request, or whatever it is, at a conscious level, that is sent to the subconscious,
for approval we’ll call it, when it is checked against the core fundamental
belief systems for compatibility, if the request/intention is not compatible
with the core fundamental belief systems, it’s a very different scenario. If the request or intention from the
conscious level is not compatible with the core fundamental belief system, it
will be rejected. Or, it may be modified to some other form that is compatible.
In other words, the subconscious operating system will produce results that
conform to whatever the core belief systems are.
So, what this means is that things work differently for
every person. Some things, as intentions, may work for some people, but the
same things may not work for other people. This is why many of the things that
are taught out in the world, for how to get results, or how to change things in
your life, or how to manifest what you want in life, may work fine for some
people, but may not work at all for others.
And, is the same reason why many methods that are taught,
such as power of positive thinking, affirmations, mantras, trying to
“reprogram” the subconscious by repeating something, law of attraction, and all the other forms of
“manifest what you think,” work fine for some people, but not at all for others.
It is about what a person’s original beliefs systems were.
With all that being said, the real point of the discussion
remains, “How do we re-program the subconscious?” The purpose of all that discussion was to
present a few fundamental principles of how the subconscious functions, so that
we have a bit of an idea of what works and what doesn’t work.
So, to consider what would be an effective means of making
changes to the subconscious, we need to take into consideration those
fundamental characteristics. First, the
“programs” that are responsible for what we wish to change are kept in a
special area of the subconscious operating system. Next, there is a separation
between the conscious part of the mind, and the subconscious part of the mind.
And, there is a protective mechanism that shields those
special system file programs, we are calling fundamental belief systems, from
outside tampering, which we might think of as being like a firewall that
protects a computer system. This means
that this “firewall” between the conscious and subconscious, prevents
tampering, interference, or otherwise changing the core fundamental belief
systems from a conscious level. Which means that those core subconscious
programs will not be modified or changed from efforts of a conscious level.
So, what is the
solution? I have found that an altered state of consciousness is needed to
bypass the protective “firewall” between the conscious and subconscious, in
order to effectively gain access to the programs in the core fundamental belief
systems, which then makes it possible to delete those original belief system
programs. I have found that a deep
trance state, similar to hypnosis, is the key, to track down and identify the
original consciousness structures, that we have been calling programs, that is
responsible for a particular pattern of conditions, which are being produced
from the subconscious.
The trance state of consciousness, is also the key factor,
to make it possible to effectively remove, or delete, the original consciousness
structure that is responsible for a particular unwanted pattern. This compares to literally deleting a flawed
program in the operating system. When
the flawed or unwanted program is deleted, then new parameters for new belief
systems can be chosen and installed in its place.
