A post showed up on my fb feed today that was very similar to many other posts I have seen, of someone complaining about Why do people say things and do things behind their back to cause trouble and make them look bad to other people? This kind of question falls into the kind of category as many others that are similar, such as Why do I keep getting into relationships with people that are mean to me? Or, Why do I keep having people that treat me mean? Or, Why do I keep having people that talk about me behind my back? And, this would also include people that always have drama of various types going on in their life. Well, the answer is the same for why people have anxiety, or depression, or low self esteem, or procrastination, or self defeating behavior, or fear of success, or any of the other common problems that plagues society, it’s all about the subconscious programs.
So the short answer is pretty simple; our subconscious
programs cause this “stuff” to show up in our life. But, understanding what that means, or how
does that happen, involves quite a few principles that are a bit more advanced,
that we haven’t talked about here yet.
But, at the risk of sounding a bit far fetched to some who might read
this, I think I’m going to skip ahead a little and talk about this phenomenon
of manifesting things in our life that we don’t want, which I think is the more
important aspect of why these subconscious programs are significant, about how
they are really affecting our lives.
So, to go back to the beginning, when we are born, we go
through a process for the first few years, where we are forming ideas and
opinions about life, and some of those opinions are about who we are, and some
of them are about how life occurs for us. There is quite a bit more involved in
what happens during this process, but I will save that discussion for another
time. For right now, we will just say, that the ideas that we form about how life
occurs for us, is stored by the subconscious, and then becomes sort of the
instructions that the subconscious follows to manifest the conditions of how
life occurs for that person.
Another way of saying this is, after those first few years,
all the things that the person decided is true about how life “is”, becomes
what the subconscious manifests as their experience of life. I call the decisions of “what is true” the
fundamental belief system. Then the subconscious provides experiences that
correspond to, or demonstrate, those “beliefs” that were formed. We will discuss this in more detail
elsewhere.
As an example of how this shows up in life, let’s suppose a
person formed the idea “people are mean to me” in this initial configuration
process, and that becomes the instructions for the subconscious to
fulfill. That person will go through
life having experiences of people that show up that “are mean to me.” These people are showing up to fulfill the
requirement, or demonstration, of “people are mean to me.”
Lately it has become popular for people to complain about,
why do they keep attracting narcissists into their life? Well, the answer is, that person has a
subconscious program that requires people to show up that act that way. And, the tendency is to blame the other
person for being a terrible person.
Well, that person may be a terrible person, or at least not treat people
very nice. But, that question remains, Why do those people show up in this
person’s life? Well, because they are
manifesting people to be in their life that act this way.
It is common for the advice given by other to be along the
lines of, just get that person out of your life. Or, maybe, just don’t pay
attention to what that person is doing, it’s their problem, not yours. Or maybe
something a little more profound like, that person is just a reflection of
something in you. Which is not bad, but doesn’t explain what it means or what
is happening. And then there is the
total abstraction, everything is all one, the other person is just another
aspect of you, and it is all duality, so, just ignore everything about life,
because it is an illusion. Which has a
place in some philosophical discussions, but isn’t very practical about making
a real difference in what is happening in our life, - now.
So, here is a couple of ideas to consider. We are
responsible for what we experience in life. We are not victims of the universe that is
doing things to us. We are manifesting our experience as the product of our
consciousness. The universe provides us with experiences that correspond to the
condition of our consciousness. Now, here is the key, what determines the
conditions of our consciousness, that shows up as our experiences of life, are
those subconscious belief systems, which produce those subconscious programs
that I talk about.
Another way of saying that is, when we say we manifest our
experience of life, what is really happening is, the universe is providing us
with experiences that correspond to the subconscious beliefs that were formed
during that initial period of childhood. (With the occasional exception of a
few other factors, such as past life experiences, which is a whole other
discussion)
So, we take responsibility for what we are manifesting for
ourselves to experience, by accepting responsibility for the subconscious
beliefs that we formed, and accepting responsibility for the results that those
belief systems are producing in our life, to experience. Now, here’s the thing, if we don’t like the
results of what we have been manifesting for ourself to experience, we can do
something about it. We can identify what the subconscious program is that is
responsible for the circumstances that are showing up, and address the program,
and clear it, or delete it, in other words.
This is the real nature of what this work is about. If we
are manifesting something in our life that we don’t like, such as people that
cause trouble, or drama, or self defeating behavior, then we can apply the
principles of this work, and trace it to the root cause and clear it from the
subconscious operating system. And, it
just stops showing up. And, we can turn our attention to manifesting, or
creating, something that we do want to have in our life. If you want to start making a difference in
what you are manifesting in your life, visit my facebook page click the message button, and leave me a
